DY Chandrachud, or Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud, is the current and 50th Chief Justice of India.
Early Life and Education: He was born on November 11, 1959. He received his LLB degree from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University. He then obtained an LLM and a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree from Harvard Law School.
Career:
Notable Judgments and Positions: He has been a part of several landmark judgments including those related to Aadhaar, Right to Privacy, and LGBTQ+ rights. He is known for his progressive and liberal views. He has also been involved in cases related to Environmental law and Constitutional law.
Family: His father, Y.V. Chandrachud, was also a former Chief Justice of India.
